Meet Dr. Mackey
Dr. Laura Mackey attended both Dartmouth College and Vassar College where she graduated in 1980. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and received her doctorate in 1984. Instead of going back to New York City, where she is from, she was accepted into a General Practice Residency Program at the York Hospital in York, PA. She settled in Downingtown and worked two days each week instructing dental students at the University of Pennsylvania. After working in a group practice for 10 years, Dr. Mackey branched out into her own practice in 1996.
Dr. Mackey has been a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Chester/Delaware County Dental Association for over 25 years. She attends the annual meeting of the American Dental Association each year, as well as numerous education courses to keep current in techniques and materials.
You will be pleased to know that at Smile Design Associates, we follow all the latest developments in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, including the American Dental Association’s required sterilization techniques and infection control procedures.

meet dr. wang
Dr. Wang was born and raised in Taiwan. She moved to the United States when she was 15 years old. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University and pursued Dental Hygiene at Harcum College. After working as a hygienist for 8 years, she went back to school to pursue a dental degree at Temple University, Kornberg School of Dentistry. Dr. Wang then earned a Master of Science degree and received a certification in Periodontics from Stony Brook University. In 2024, Dr. Wang achieved the highest level of accreditation within Periodontics and is now a Board Certified Periodontist.
Dr. Wang is a member of the American Academy of Periodontics, American Dental Association and Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Outside of the office, Dr. Wang enjoys spending time outdoors, checking out the restaurant scene in Center City and traveling. She also likes cooking, watching movies and doing yoga.
